New Directions for Women (NDFW) was founded, in part, by Pamela Wilder in 1977, with the support and assistance of the Jr. League of Orange County. Pamela stood up in a Jr. League meeting, identified herself as a recovering alcoholic and asked for help and support in establishing a recovery program for women. Two other women, Marion Schoen and Muriel Zink, were also instrumental in New Direction’s beginnings. Our luxury treatment facility was created in response to a shortage of affordable and accessible rehabilitation treatment services for women suffering from alcoholism, substance abuse and other chemical dependency problems.
For nearly 4 decades, we have expanded to become a internationally recognized, comfortable, luxury, attractive 30-bed residential rehab located in Southern California (CA) in Costa Mesa, near Newport Beach’s Back Bay and Nature Preserve. State licensed and certified, our award winning facility touts a very high recovery rate. We accept most insurances and have partial scholarship opportunities available for those who may lack some financial resources.
