Biosound Therapy and Addiction Treatment At New Directions for Women our goal is to help heal the mind, body, and soul through the use of holistic treatment and experiential therapies. Our holistic approach to treatment combined with the 12 Steps helps our patients to achieve sustained, lifelong recovery. One of the therapies that we use at our treatment facility to help treat the disease of addiction is biosound therapy.

This type of therapy is utilized with patients to help them manage their emotions, any stress they may be feeling, and the interaction of the heart and the brain within the body. One of the ways that biosound therapy is helpful is that it administers biofeedback to the patient in conjunction with sound frequency healing, music, and guided imagery.

When a patient undergoes biosound therapy treatment, the patient is asked to settle into a bed made of memory foam that will help the patient go into a state of meditation through the use of music, vibration, and binaural beats. The memory foam allows for the body to become completely supported and conformed to the bed, supporting the back from head to toe. The patient will don a pair of biosensor glasses which will display video imagery, and give the patient positive audio affirmations. The positive affirmations will help the patient to develop mindfulness so that they are more aware of the present and their surroundings.

There are many benefits to using biosound therapy while in addiction treatment. The patient will experience their body being put into a state of relaxation because both the heart and the brain become synchronized. The body can then begin to heal itself from addiction because the patient will find that their feelings of withdrawal will decrease. They will also find that they are becoming more self-aware of themselves and begin to focus. Patients will have a reduction in anxiety, and or depression. Through biosound therapy they will experience that any fear will be taken away through the use of guided imagery.
