60 day rehab for women

There are many reasons why a 60-day rehabilitation program has seen an increase in popularity. Rehab is a comprehensive solution for persons suffering from chemical dependency. These programs are also favorable because treatment can begin in a residential environment. Rehab provides a path towards recovery and gives the patient the tools to enjoy a healthy life where the disease of addiction can be managed, one day at a time.

Many women who were once suffering from chemical dependency were able to find a way to start living their lives again by participating in rehabilitation treatment programs. Through participation in 12-Step meetings, individual and group counseling, aftercare and participation in alumnae services and activities, these women reduce their chance of relapse and strengthen their new recovery.

New Directions for Women offers rehabilitation for women suffering from chemical dependency. At our facility, a 90 day commitment is suggested however we only require a 30 day commitment to start. Our clinicians work with our patients and their families so they can stay for the duration of time they need to fully get well in order to live a lifetime of sobriety, as well as their insurance companies. Our goal at New Directions for Women is to make sure that we provide women with a loving and encouraging environment that is free of judgment or shame, and that women get the extent of care that they need, whether that is 90 days or 14 months.

New Directions for Women’s rehabilitation treatment involves several elements to treat each woman. These include individual and group therapy, immersion in the 12 Step principles of Alcoholics Anonymous, group support, mindfulness meditation and experiential therapies. Our treatments are not just limited to simply ending drug and alcohol use. Patients gain an understanding of self-awareness, spirituality and relationship with their higher power, and they learn how to repair their relationships and their lives. This is not an easy undertaking, so at New Directions for Women we encourage long term, extended, residential care as needed. Treatment is not limited to the patient but is also for the loved ones who ultimately are going through a recovery process as well.

For some, 60 days in treatment is not enough time. That is why we recommend a 90 day length of stay. Our goal is to teach every woman how to use the set of tools given to her in the program over a lifetime. It is important to note that chemical dependency is a life altering, chronic disease.

There are many treatment centers around the country where women can get help with her addiction. Be sure to ask if the center is accredited (by, for example, CARF or JCAHO), and schedule a tour of the center so that you can see it first hand before entering treatment. In addition, when choosing a rehabilitation facility, it may be a good idea to find out if they offer extended programs and aftercare programs so that you will not have to switch facilities if you feel that more help is necessary.

Women have unique and distinct needs for rehabilitation treatment as compared to men, and a longer length of stay can be extremely beneficial to living a recovered life. Women who are suffering from an addiction experience best outcomes in a residential, long term facility with various stages of treatment and a continuum of care, such as New Directions for Women.
