Anonymous Donor Family Donates $1.1
to New Directions for Women
Non-profit organizations rely heavily on donations and often struggle through a down economy. New Directions for Women is thankful for an anonymous family that has donated $1.1 million to the Costa Mesa chemical dependency treatment center. The gift will help fund the patient scholarship program and is the second largest single cash gift given to New Directions for Women in the organization’s 33-year history.
“A large donation like this speaks to the good and loving nature of people even in tough financial times,” said Rebecca J. Flood, CEO and Executive Director of New Directions for Women.
The donor family is a long time supporter of New Directions for Women and has designated the gift for unrestricted purposes, enabling New Directions to serve women on the road to recovery in a number of ways.
“Our mission at New Directions for Women is to provide a safe, caring and sensitive residential treatment facility that offers exceptional, gender-specific addiction treatment services that are grounded in the 12-Step principles. New Directions assists women, their families and their children to achieve sustained responsible recovery. This wouldn’t be possible without such tremendous support from donors like this anonymous contributor and their family. We are deeply grateful for this generous gift,” said Flood.
