With the theme “Transforming Lives,” New Directions for Women proudly welcomed about 200 business executives, treatment and health care professionals, volunteer board members, loving staff, NDFW Alumnae, community members, and their friends for a beautiful occasion at the exclusive and luxurious Big Canyon County Club in Newport Beach, CA. Our 4th annual Circle of Life Breakfast was held on March 12th, 2012.

After the warm breakfast had been served, Becky Flood gave a welcome address sharing the exciting updates and life changing work at New Directions for Women. She shared 5,000 women have completed our program, 300 children have lived in residence with their mothers, and 80 sober babies have been born to pregnant mothers in our alcohol and drug rehab.

We then moved into a video introducing viewers to the depth of the daily work performed at New Directions for Women. The video moved through the reality that for more than 30 years New Directions for Women has served women, children, and their families with the purpose of transforming lives. This video was followed by moving testimonies from NDFW Alumnae and family members as a symbol of what recovery can offer.

Then, Carole Pickup, who is on our Foundation Board, offered the opportunity to give to the Pamela Wilder Scholarship Fund, which provides financial assistance to women seeking quality addiction treatment services but lack the financial resources to pay for the extent and duration of care needed to achieve sustained recovery.

Last year’s Circle of Life Breakfast yielded approximately 350,000 dollars in pledges. NDFW is proud to announce that the 2012 Circle of Life Breakfast generated over half a million dollars in pledges. That is near 50% more than what was pledged the year before. We are truly excited and grateful for every ounce of effort, prayers, and well wishes that went into the success of this year’s Breakfast.

We extend a very special thank you to an anonymous investor for the unlimited match of all financial contributions and to the Albert J. Crosson Family Foundation for underwriting the Breakfast and their fourth consecutive year of support.

If you are interested in making a donation to NDFW in honor of the Circle of Life Breakfast, it will be matched if it comes in before Monday, March 19th.
