Ann Levine, Fractional CFO
Ann serves as NDFW‘s Fractional CFO, overseeing financial strategy, budget development and oversight, and long-range planning to keep the organization strong and sustainable as it grows.
Ann has devoted her career to strengthening nonprofits and meeting the basic needs of the most disenfranchised people in our communities. A California-licensed attorney since 1998 (Juris Doctorate, UC Hastings College of the Law; BA in English, UCLA, cum laude), she has worked in nearly every corner of the nonprofit sector — as an executive director, board member, advisory council member, professional fundraiser, program evaluator, grants manager, community builder, and direct service provider. Her financial expertise spans nonprofit audits, forensic accounting, budget development, and financial oversight.
Ann began her career as a housing and disability rights attorney and Co-Director of the Mental Health Advocacy Project at the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley, where she represented more than 1,000 clients and led systemic fair-housing reform efforts. She went on to serve as Executive Director of Imagine Housing, guiding the organization through a rebrand, its first capital campaign, a major-donor program, a dramatic increase in philanthropic revenue, and the opening of three new affordable housing communities. She has also served as Director of Philanthropy at LifeWire, building its major gift program, and as Director of Development and Planning with The Olin Group in Southern California, where her strategic planning, budgeting, and grant work helped clients raise $6.2M in two years. In 2019, she launched 501c Insight to expand the range of consulting services she offers nonprofits, with a focus on financial sustainability, organizational strategy, and fund development.
Ann is passionate about supporting nonprofit leaders, building powerful teams, shaping fresh and compelling organizational narratives, and helping nonprofits become stronger and more sustainable. Her work is grounded in a lifelong commitment to ensuring that resources for basic needs and social justice reach people living in poverty, people with disabilities, survivors of trauma and abuse, and other disenfranchised communities.
