Lori J. Butler, CFRE – Director of Development
Lori J. Butler, CFRE is the Director of Development of New Directions for Women Foundation, a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to providing support to New Directions for Women through partial scholarships for women in treatment, funds for building projects, funds for program and other critical needs. The long-term goal of the Foundation is to create a growing endowment that provides financial support for generations of future patients and their families as they walk the road from addiction to recovery.
Lori is a Certified Fundraising Executive with more than 25 years’ experience working with donors and supporters to professionally secure the most impact for each philanthropic gift. Additionally, she teaches Event and Meeting Planning at Cal State San Marcos’ Extended Learning Program and is active in the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
She is personally passionate about working with causes that support the real-world mental health needs of women and mothers including addiction treatment. On a more practical side, she holds certifications in Mental Health First Aid and is a trained workshop facilitator for the National Alliance on Mental Illness’s NAMI Basics and Girls Inc.’s Friendly PEERsuasion program.
An Orange County native with a degree in Communications from California State University Fullerton, Lori also volunteers with and is a member of many community groups including Kiwanis International. She also currently volunteers in the mental health community as the Treasurer of Mountain Counseling and Training near Lake Arrowhead, CA area where she owns a vacation home.
