New Directions for Women hosts community events to bring the Orange County recovery community together, to reduce the stigma that surrounds substance use disorder, and celebrate our alumnae, care partners, and volunteers. We are proud to host several 12-Step and self-help meetings to provide hope to community members, whether they have been through our treatment program or not. Each event listed below is open to the community, unless otherwise stated. For more information on any event, fill out our contact form with any questions!

Not just trauma survivors – we are THRIVERS

May 11 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Inspiration from Gina Tabrizy, MS, LMFT, New Directions for Women Clinical Supervisor

Monday, May 11, 2020 at 1:00pm PST

After the SARS outbreak in 2003, both healthcare workers and people who self-isolated due to the virus exhibited symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The stress, anxiety, and fear caused by the coronavirus pandemic can lead to the same outcome – not just in the patients and clients we work with, but within ourselves.

What if we looked at ourselves as not just trauma survivors, but thrivers? What if we used this global experience to advance, grow, prosper, flourish, and shine? What if we allowed ourselves to feel gratitude for all the good things in our life, and help those that we work with do the same?

Join us for an inspirational talk by New Directions for Women Clinical Supervisor Gina Tabrizy MS, LMFT. She’ll share methods to move from “victim” to “survivor” to”thriver” for the individuals you work with (and for your own personal journey.)

Gina has over thirty years of experience as a healer, and her demeanor and style are often called “magical”, “inspirational” and “incredibly healing”. Her expertise in trauma, addiction recovery, and spirituality enables her to facilitate deep healing of the past for our patients – and everyone she works with.

If you have any questions, please email Tania Bhattacharyya at [email protected].
