A Testimony Letter from a thankful family

Dear Friends at New Directions for Women,

I am writing to you for my mother, who was a patient at New Directions over 20 years ago. Mom remained a sober woman throughout her life, keeping her promise to herself and to her family. She passed away a few months ago after a long battle with cancer, and even when she knew that she was very ill and had to face the inevitable, she chose not to drink. Through all the pain and fear, her promise to stay sober remained strong- to her last breath.

Not only did you give Mom a new life, but New Directions played a big part in our family too. We were able to have a calm and joyful upbringing with the guidance of a loving, sober woman. Her joy has continued on through her children to her grandchildren, to her brothers and sisters and their families, and to everyone that knew her and loved her.

We want to thank you for helping our wonderful mother, and our family. We know that she is looking down on all of us and that her spirit watches over us like an angel on our pillows.
