Program Rates

New Directions for Women accepts in-network and out-of-network insurance providers and we have affordable private pay options.

The total fee for treatment at New Directions for Women is based upon each patient’s length of stay, which varies according to the severity of the patient’s illness, progress through the treatment process, and any ancillary charges. The program at New Directions for Women is based on an average length stay of 90 days, which includes 35 days of Primary Care and 55 days of Transitional Care. Financial arrangements must be made prior to admission.

The daily rates include room and board, individual, family and group therapy, and education. There may be additional charges for assessments, procedures and certain medications not routinely associated with addiction treatment such as initial medical history and physical examination, psychiatric evaluation, lab studies and prescribed medications. Services provided by third parties such as off-site testing, any additional off-site lab work, emergency room, or dental visits, are billed directly to the patient by those providers.

Payment Responsibility

Please be aware that New Directions for Women cannot hold your insurance company responsible for payment of services rendered. An insurance policy is a contract between you and the insurance company. Full payment is expected upon admission to any program unless prior arrangements have been made. Financing is available. Incomplete or delayed financial arrangements can postpone actual admission. To avoid any delay in admission to New Directions for Women, a review of insurance or other payment arrangements is necessary. A New Directions for Women financial counselor will work with patients and their families to make manageable arrangements that will meet their financial obligations.

Please call us with further questions regarding services and the admission process. Our helpline staff is at your service at 1-800-93-WOMEN, 24 hours a day. Of course, all inquiries are strictly confidential.

Insurance Benefits and Financial Responsibility

Health insurance plans generally do not cover the entire cost of our minimum 4-5 week program. The average insurance plan will cover 1-2 weeks. Please consult your Admissions Counselor for more information on how to ensure that you or your loved one will be eligible for the entire program. Insurance policies and benefits vary greatly. We will help obtain any relevant information, including a list of allowable benefits on a new patient’s contract.

Employers and insurance agents can also be helpful in answering questions about benefits. Insurance or managed care companies may require concurrent reviews of a patient’s medical care during hospitalization. If medical necessity is approved by the patient’s insurance company, the certification of days will be given a few days stay at a time. Authorization does not guarantee payment by an insurance company.

We will work with the patient’s insurance company to provide the necessary information required in order to review for medical necessity, but it should be noted that New Directions for Women has no control over the outcome of these reviews and such reviews do not guarantee payment by any insurance carrier upon final billing.
