THE GLORIES OF SOBRIETY IN COSTA MESA
Local Author and Founder of Addiction Recovery Center Holds Book Signing as Part of Recovery Grand Re-Opening, Sept. 12, 1:30 p.m.
WHAT: Faith Strong, author, philanthropist, and advocate for addiction recovery will be signing copies of the Glories of Sobriety at the grand re-opening of The Latest Thing a recovery gift and book store that has been in Costa Mesa for twenty years. As part of the event those who buy a copy of the Glories of Sobriety will get a second at half-price.
WHO: Faith Strong is an author, founding member of New Directions for Women, and long-time resident of Orange County who has been intricately involved with promoting addiction recovery programs throughout the world including bringing Alcoholics Anonymous to the Soviet Union.
WHY: Addiction is usually told through the horror stories of pain and despair. Author Faith Strong wanted to capture the love and graciousness of people who have overcome addiction. Faith Strong continued her long relationship with New Directions for Women in helping them publish their first book the Glories of Sobriety. In this book Faith has compiled 24 inspirational stories from long time recovery addicts of how wonderful it has been to live a clean life without addiction. All proceeds from the book sale benefit New Directions for Women.
